Preparation and Usage

  • To roast
  • Before cooking: Preheat oven. Top and tail the parsnips. Peel and cut into quarters. Heat oil in a roasting tray in the oven and add seasoning as desired. Parboil the parsnips in a pan of boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain well. Add the parsnips to the tray and coat in the oil. Place tray on the middle shelf of the oven.
  • During cooking: Turn halfway through cooking.
  • After cooking: Check food is piping hot.
  • To roast
  • 200°C/Fan 180°C/Gas 6
  • 35-40 mins
  • To steam
  • Before cooking: Top and tail the parsnips. Peel and cut into quarters. Place parsnips in the steamer.
  • During cooking: Take care that the pan does not boil dry.
  • After cooking: Remove carefully. Check food is piping hot.
  • To steam cook
  • Moderate heat
