To cook on a hob.
Before cooking: Peel or wash and cut into evenly sized pieces.
Place potatoes in cold water. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer gently.
Drain. Check food is piping hot
To mash.
Follow instructions for to cook on the hob.Put back on to warm hob for 1 minute to dry. Add warm milk, butter if likes and seasoning. Mash until smooth and creamy.
To roast.
Before cooking: Preheat oven. Put 2-4 tablespooms of pure vegatable oil in the roasting tray and place in the oven.Peel and cut the potatoes into evenly sized pieces, place in pan, cover with cold water and bring to boil. Drain thoroughly, then holding the lid firmly on the pan, shake vigorously to roughen the surfaces. Remove tray from the oven and place the potatoes carefully into the hot oil, turn to coat and season. Place tray on the middle shelf of the oven.
During cooking: Turn half way through cooking. Cook until golden brown and soft in the middle. Do not allow to become too dark.
After cooking: Check food is piping hot. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.
